Buck and Knobby breaks ground on its new Toledo-based JCB equipment dealership
Jump to navigationBuck and Knobby Equipment Co. is back in the Toledo area with a new 6,000-square-foot JCB dealership in Holland. The new location will rent and sell JCB backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, telehandlers, skid steers and compact track loaders.
It’s a fast-track project with completion scheduled this fall. Rudolph Libbe Inc. is design/build contractor and our own construction team is performing site work, concrete, masonry and carpentry. GEM Inc. is erecting the 6,000-square-foot Varco Pruden pre-engineered steel building.
“We’re thrilled to partner with JCB and make this commitment to our loyal Ohio customers,” said Gerry Maibach, business manager for Buck and Knobby Equipment. “We feel this new facility will help us spotlight JCB’s outstanding equipment and all the benefits it has to offer.”
In 1948, Melvin R. “Buck” Cole and Lloyd R. “Knobby” Nolfo launched the company in Toledo. Buck and Knobby Equipment Co. moved its headquarters to Ottawa Lake, Michigan in 1975.
“Thanks to the new dealership, we expect to create seven new jobs during the first year of operation,” Maibach said. “It’s definitely an exciting time as we anticipate growing our new JCB business both in Ohio and in Michigan.
