Steve Johnson, president of GEM Inc., a Rudolph Libbe Group company, has been elected president of The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC), a 2,500-member contractor association based in Washington, D.C.

Johnson, of Perrysburg Township, has more than 30 years of construction experience. He is a past executive board member and secretary of TAUC and a past president of the Mechanical Contractors of Northwest Ohio. He is a current board member of the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee (NMAPC).

In 1987, Johnson joined GEM Inc. as an electrician, progressing to operations manager, vice president of operations, senior vice president of construction and executive vice president before being named president of GEM Inc. in 2015.
