Defiance City Schools institutional construction management
Defiance City Schools began a new era in December 2017 with the construction of a modern, new middle/high school building. Designed for today’s project-based learning, the school serves more than 1,300 students in grades 6-12.
Rudolph Libbe Inc. of the Rudolph Libbe Group was construction manager and GEM Inc. performed steel erection and teledata work. The two-story, 231,000-square-foot building includes modern security features and meets LEED Silver standards.
The inviting campus makes the most of natural light and includes:
- A “teaching stair”
- A modern media center
- State-of-the-art science rooms
- A CAD lab
- An engineering tech lab
- Updated band and choir facilities with technologically upgraded practice rooms and additional ensemble spaces
- A nearly 20,000-square-foot arena-style gymnasium that seats up to 2,500
The Defiance Grades 6-12 School is a state-of-the-art educational setting that will give our young people everything they need to become college- and career-ready in a highly competitive world.
