Do you Want to be part of something great?

…Then consider a co-op position with the Rudolph Libbe Group of companies.  Gaining real-life work experience is one of the toughest, but most crucial, aspects of being a college student. At RLG, we empower our co-ops to work on big jobs and with some of our most important customers.

Are you a smart, motivated undergraduate student in engineering, construction management, sales/marketing, information technology or human resources?  We annually employ between 25 and 30 new and returning students.  Consider applying for a co-op position to spend time working side-by-side with RLG professionals in your chosen field.

We employ co-ops at our Walbridge and northeast Ohio locations.

Over half of Rudolph Libbe Inc.’s project managers and estimators have been hired through the co-op program.  Since the inception of its co-op program in 2008, there have been 56 co-ops at GEM, Inc. offices. More than 20 of those co-ops work for us now as full-time associates.

To learn more about what you can expect from an RLG co-op experience, download the RLI, GEM Inc. or RLG (Northeast Ohio) program brochures below for more details and contact information.

Throughout this co-op, I’ve been able to exercise a different way of thinking and problem solving. In the classroom, we aren’t in real-life situations where we have to deal with so many different things at once. Here I'm given responsibilities and real tasks that affect projects. The culture here stands out. Everyone helps each other no matter what department you’re in or how long you’ve been here. We’re all one team.

Among the various projects that I have worked on, Charter Steel Mill has been my favorite. I was required to do concrete - pour, form and finish take-offs for foundation work. This challenging project enhanced my understanding of advanced foundation works. Apart from software applications like On Screen Take-off (OST), Bluebeam and Timberline Estimating, I got a chance to assist lead estimators with bid date and observed the entire process of bidding a job till its award.

While at RLG, I have assisted the HR team with projects related to HR compliance, employee benefits, co-op and employee engagement. As a member of the Wellness Committee, we work to make RLG a better work environment through physical, mental and emotional health programs. I felt like I made a difference while working on these projects!

Working at GEM has broadened my potential and taught me many things I need to know to be successful in the field. As a team member, I’ve learned that there is always a way to accomplish something, even when it seems impossible. Everyone here is extremely dependable and understands the benefits of hard work and dedication.
