GEM Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our team in our Walbridge, Ohio location. As a member of our safety team, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting company associates in achieving safety excellence by helping to identify existing and potential safety risks on current and upcoming projects, providing training, and performing site visits to verify that safety regulations and company policies are consistently implemented company-wide.
 

SKILLS

  •  Experience with developing and facilitating safety training
  •  Ability to engage, communicate, and positively influence others across the entire workforce
  •  Strong time management and organizational skills
  •  Availability for shift work, travel, and out of town assignments
  •  Previous experience with Industrial Hygiene as it pertains to safety would be beneficial. 
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  •  Candidates should have 3-5 years construction safety experience with the proven ability to identify workable solutions to eliminate hazards
  •  30 Hour OSHA Certification
  •  BCSP Safety Certification would be beneficial.
