Dan Stark, senior preconstruction and operations leader for the Rudolph Libbe Group Guided Process Solutions (GPS) team, has been named 2017 Toledo Area Engineer of the Year.

Each year, the Toledo Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) recognizes a local engineer for commitment and achievements in the engineering profession and community.

Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1980 and became a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio in 1985. He joined GEM Inc. in 2007 as a project manager.

He helped develop Rudolph Libbe Group’s innovative GPS team, which focuses on design/build process construction. His customers have included Ball Corporation, KOST USA, the Syracuse University Green Data Center, and Johnson Controls.

Since 1991, he has served as TSPE’s Toledo Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition coordinator. This is Dan’s second honor from TSPE – he was named Young Engineer of the Year in 1992.
